Chainsaws can be used in tidying up shrubs and hedges in your garden. In terms of quickness a chainsaw is more effective than a hedge trimmer. Chainsaws are not advisable for precision cuts. A chainsaw is very useful in tidying up your garden of forest firefighter job.
Select Bar Size
Longer Bars are used by chainsaws compared to hedge trimmers usually for cutting bigger wood. However, chainsaws often allow up to 3 different size bars to work on the chainsaw. Trimming bushes usually needs the chainsaws with shorter length to have a cleaner look when cutting. If you're just going to trim the bush without much concern of the small areas, use the large bar size. Taller and larger shrubs need to be cut using larger bars of chainsaws.
Maintaining the Sharpness of the Chains
Keeping the chain sharp is a mandate for all chainsaw cutting but especially when cutting lighter materials such as brushes. It makes the chainsaws effective in cutting with precision and prevents it from catching the twigs of bushes. Also, loosen the tension on the chain slightly, turning the tensioner screw about a half turn counterclockwise, which will give the chain added flexibility and will stop the chain from binding against the lighter woods. It will also prevent the chain from popping off the bar suddenly.
Methods in Operating

Safety Measures
Make sure that you use the proper protective gear in using the chainsaws. An added piece of protective gear --- chainsaw chaps --- should be used when brushing. These protective gears are used in your legs to prevent injury from chain pop offs during the cutting of shrubs. It is not good to cut taller shrubs for it may cause you injury by falling twigs or maybe from an imbalance that can lead to self-induced injuries.
